About that possible honeymoon: we weren't going to take one after the wedding. Not at all. The original plan was for us to get married on the 24th and then I'd fly back to DC on the 26th and be at my desk on the 27th. We didn't have the time or the money to enjoy a honeymoon immediately afterwards, and that was okay. We were starting to think of big trips we could take for our one-year anniversary in August 2014, once we'd gotten the visa out of the way and Jon was settled here in the States. But the time issue kind of sorted itself out and it turns out that there may be an option that would put us very minimally out of pocket thanks to the generosity of some family members and... well, again, I'm letting my imagination get the better of me.
But if it does happen, it will be to a lovely place that Jon and I have visited before. A place with rolling hills and winding streets and open water and memories and friends and a little cottage just for the two of us. And I don't want to jinx anything, but if I were to take advantage of that 15% off deal...

I love LOVE love that dress! And am of course very excited to know what this mysterious place may be! xx
ReplyDeletefingers crossed your honeymoon works itself out! the idea of you flying home two days after getting married is just too sad to bear [sorry if that's rubbing salt in the wound, but it really is! you need longer than 2 days to celebrate with your new husband!]. also, that dress is giving me Mediterranean vibes, I think?
ReplyDeleteOh, Anthro! Just going into that store makes my head spin with possibilities. I really hope your honeymoon works out! We postponed our honeymoon (only by one month), but we still took a couple of days right after the wedding for just the two of us, at a little B&B in Charlottesville. Definitely worth it!
ReplyDeleteLovely picks! Miss this place being over here in Dublin!
ReplyDeleteOh Anthro. Love it too much for my wallet which is why I own so very few things from it. Plus I always watch something diligently to see if it goes on sale, and then two days after I last checked it, it's on sale AND sold out. If only I had an actual store I could visit. That's the downside of living in a college town instead of a city.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is adorable. I'm all about navy and polka dots. I'm kind of known around my friends as wearing navy with red accents, which is why that's why my bridesmaids did it too. To be fair, I let them choose if they wanted the red shoes or not, and they did.
Plus, honeymoon!!!! I hope it works out for you.
ReplyDeleteME TOO! It's got a swishy skirt :)
ReplyDeleteI know! we didn't really have a choice before but it looks like we do now, so... stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteSO worth it! also, I think it's especially sweet that Jon's pushing to make this work. eee :)
ReplyDeleteis there not one there yet? it's in London, so soon, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI don't even look usually because it's soo frustrating! but I did get that email...
ReplyDeletenavy and polka dots with red - how '50s pin-up of you!
EEE! thank you :)
ReplyDeleteThat dress is too cute!! Hope that you and your future hubby get to take a honeymoon. FIngers and toes crossed for you!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!!

ReplyDeleteOh, I so hope you get the honeymoon- that would be excellent! YAY!
ReplyDeleteI hope the honeymoon works out! I'm crossing my fingers for you!
ReplyDeleteReally hope you guys are able to get away, even if it is just to a place where you can have some just-the-two-of-you time!! It's worth it to spend some time together and to catch a breather after all the insanity of entertaining friends and relatives! :D
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I hope that everything works out!
ReplyDeleteLori
Hope everything works out and you'll have your honeymoon! Nice set, by the way, love that dress
ReplyDeleteHope everything works out for you two and you get to go away. Love that dress.
ReplyDeleteMy fingers are crossed that all aligns and you are wearing that lovely dress on a mini-honeymoon!
ReplyDeleteOh, Anthropologie... I love that place but can never go in unless I have a gift card. Birthday discounts are good, too. :) I love the look you put together! Fingers crossed for your honeymoon.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed on your honeymoon! Although I can see the pros of taking a grand trip later when you have time, but your potential getaway sounds like a dream. And as for Anthro...when they have a sale, you jump on it. (Says the unemployed college student who can barely afford their sale rack.)
ReplyDeleteAND toes! thank you :)
ReplyDeletehaha I love how everyone's rooting for us - thank you!
ReplyDeleteif I get one, the other has to follow, right?
ReplyDeleteeeeee yay!
ReplyDeletethank you thank you!
ReplyDeleteoof, I'm sure we'll need it!
ReplyDeletehaha I try not to either - but sometimes I'm weak! thank you :)
ReplyDeletemaybe we can do both somehow? a girl can dream!
ReplyDelete95% of my honeymoon wardrobe was from Anthro. The other 5% was shoes. ;)
ReplyDeleteoh man THAT DRESS! You're reminding me that this IS my birthweek coming up and I've got some deals to take advantage of! To anthro I go tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you at least get a mini-moon. It's important to decompress together after the wedding. We spent 36 hours in Boston on our mini-moon and it was time together that we definitely needed x
ReplyDeleteIf you're thinking of going where I think you're thinking of going, I took James for the first time earlier this year and the village is as wonderful as ever. There's a beautiful new cafe where you can get waffles and poached eggs and oh, I really hope you can go!
ReplyDeletethat IS where I was talking about, but it's already spoken for! however, Libby seems to have come to the rescue with some creative ideas, so we shall see :)
ReplyDeleteLove the cutout in that dress! So cute. I hope you so get to have the honeymoon, but either way you'll be together forever and many vacations are in your future, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI've been in a work bubble lately and haven't been able to catch up on all my favorite reads! But man... I'm happy to be back! And this outfit is INCREDIBLE!! Love all the accessories, too.
