The Sunday Currently XXI

currently...

reading...  and re-reading this amazing piece by my friend Julie on why women should reclaim exercise as something we have a birthright to excel at both physically and emotionally.  My sister's been practicing fitBallet, which you'll hear more about when she guest posts tomorrow, and it's wonderful to understand the mindset that went into creating the program.

writing... a rant against the use of the word "hustle" by 20- and 30-somethings in a professional context.  I need to take it down several notches before it's publishable, though, because right now I have a lot of strong feelings that shouldn't be shared publicly about it!

wearing... a super-preppy outfit for today's day trip to Annapolis!  Check Instagram for an #ootd photo.

listening... to the Duruflé Requiem - or I will be at 6pm tonight, when I go to the Cathedral for their All Souls' Requiem Mass for the Commemoration of All Faithful Departed.

watching... Friday Night Lights.  We finally jumped on the bandwagon and Jon and I are both obsessed.  And you were right - Tami Taylor is absolutely the best.

smelling... a new candle I got at Marshall's a few weeks ago.  It's called Clean Linen.  (I still only like cotton- or linen-scented candles!  Jon knows better than to buy me any because I'm so picky about them.)

wishing... that Charlie will continue letting us sleep in until 7am even though we've now changed the clocks.  Can someone come explain Daylight Savings TIme to my dog, please?

hoping... that Charlie has finally learned that he's not allowed to sleep on our bed at night, which includes not jumping up at 3am to curl up at our knees.  I think we might be there, dear readers!

feeling... content.  It's not always easy (re)learning to share your life with someone, no matter how much you love him, but being with Jon again and forever is so right.

  4. I'm obsessed with all cotton and clean linen candles. I just brought back to England a Yankee Candle that's called November Rain but has that same kind of scent. It's woooonderful! Also, I'm secretly hoping Charlie never learns not to sleep on the bed heehee x

  5. Jon has a hard time understanding why Julie is such a brat. I tried to explain to him that ALL 16 year old girls are like that! haha
