#tbt August in Suffolk

Dear readers, I fly to England next week tomorrow!  I can't wait.  Jon and I haven't seen each other since mid-April and I miss him so much. (To be honest, I have no idea when we'll next see each other after this visit because the visa process seems to have stalled again, but I'm trying not to let that weigh heavy on the week.)  It's also my first trip across the pond since our wedding last August, so beyond getting reacquainted with my husband I'm also looking forward to rediscovering my old haunts.

We'll actually be spending more time in Suffolk than London while I've over - London's my second home, of course, and my two and a half days in the city are already packed full with friends and dinners and drinks and outings, but spending as much of August by the North Sea as possible has been a tradition since my first full summer in England.

I took a trip down memory lane last night, looking through the past five years' worth of photos, and thought I'd share some of my favorites from Suffolk summers with you here today!

  3. My heart is breaking a little... It's so sad that you can't be with the man that you love on a permanent basis, it's just unfair. But you know, you're right... you get to see him soon and you will have so much fun!!! How long will you be there? I will also be in London next week :) I hope you have a safe journey ... with many memories! Oh... and your photos are fabulous! Tammy x

  7. You'll look back on these days and remember the giddy excitement before trips to see each other more than you remember the loneliness--at least that's been true for me. There's something so special about getting reacquainted with the man you love and know so well after months apart. Of course it's always better to just be together, but there was always a magical element to those reunions for us. Enjoy your trip, it'll be amazing :)

  8. Beautiful memories!! I am so excited for you, I remember those amazing reunions! I am also highly jealous. I am missing England so much, but alas I won't be able to go home until the end of next year. Kiss England from me and enjoy every precious moment making moments as amazing as the ones in your photos x
