You might remember that my mother is an accomplished seamstress. She made two skirts for me this past spring, including this pink one, and is working on a dress - believe it or not, I think she's more excited about creating bespoke clothes for me than I am! I don't want to take advantage of her skills, but I've been trying to think of a specific request for the next project since she's having so much fun.
In the spirit of summer and the garden party I'm throwing next weekend, I think I might ask Mom to make me a gingham dress. I know I want an A-line or full skirt, no sleeves, and a proper waist at the narrowest point on my torso, but beyond that... I'm not quite sure! I don't want to look like a tablecloth and I don't want to look like Dorothy, so what would you suggest? I found a few gingham dresses from around the web that I do like (or that have elements that I like) and I'm trying to put together a coherent idea, but any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
