I'll be the first person to admit I'm not a fashion blogger. Sure, I have tons o' fun with Polyvore every week and my style & fashion Pinterest board is updated regularly enough, but I could never be a fashion blogger. I look in awe on girls who take hundreds of photos of themselves using a proper camera, a tripod, and some kind of remote while bathed in lush light in a field and then edit them down to a select dozen using Lightroom or Photoshop to enhance - well, whatever it is they need to enhance in these situations. It's an alien thing to me and, while I appreciate all the hard work that goes into being a fashion blogger, I'm very comfortable leaving it to the experts.
First of all, I'm a proud iPhonographer; I don't have any of the hardware or software required and I'm not bothered enough to buy it and learn how to use it. Second, I never know how to pose or where to look if I'm not being directed. And third, what would I do with Charlie once I'd found a blog-worthy backdrop?
That's why, when Charlie and I came to my parents' house to spend the snowy afternoon in suburbia and I asked Dad to take some "fashion blogger" photos of me, the results were as follows...

shoes - Sperry Topsider duck boots, no longer available online / sunglasses - Marc by Marc Jacobs, similar
I'm a proud iphoneagrapher, too!! And I love the photos of you and Charlie! It's the best kind of fashion, you look like you are wearing happiness!

ReplyDeletei really love your coat!! and charlie is the cutest! i usually only appear in photos when we are on vacation ;) h doesnt really get into the fashion blogger thang.
ReplyDeleteI totally take all of my photos on an iPhone! No shame here. And these are some of my favorite pictures I've seen on your blog. So there!
ReplyDeleteYou may not be a "pro", but you really could ask for no better costar in photos than that handsome boy of yours :) especially with all of that snow in the background! there's just so much happiness here, it's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Charlie's video! Pure exuberance!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fashion blogger either, but sometimes it's fun to get some solo shots for the blog! Also, whenever I see a fashion blogger in the fall/winter posting something that doesn't include a coat, scarf, and gloves, my immediate reaction is insane jealousy... Not over their cute clothes, but at weather nice enough not to need all the winter accessories!!! Most of my pictures November to April look a lot like yours posted above. :)
ReplyDeleteCharlie's loving that snow! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to say, Charlie is a natural!
