I had such a wonderful post drafted for today, full of musings on the nature of the holiday season and the joy that festive decor can bring, but I woke up at 4:30 this morning, couldn't fall back asleep, decided to tinker with the text, and deleted the whole thing. Note to self: consuming 1/2 a wheel of brie en croute (made with the most delicious fig and garlic jam)while finishing a bottle of wine right before bed is not good for the soul.
So, instead of recapturing my brilliance - which, let's be honest, probably can't be done - I'll let a few photos of my holiday decor tell the seasonal story of Hanukkah, the festival of lights, plus Christmas, which brought us the inspired pairing of red and green, and an added sprinkling of winter cheer, requiring glitter and metallics and brass. I mean, obviously, right?
So pretty! I love the word Thanksgivukkah. :) I'm so unfamiliar with Hanukkah traditions other than the Menorah.

ReplyDeleteI cannot eat a lot of cheese in the evening or else it does to me pretty much what you experienced last night. If we want to do a fondue or something, it must be at lunch.
