So Tell Me What You Want (What You Really Really Want)

sunset over Rock Creek Park; October 1 at 6:56pm

Good morning, dear readers!  It's Wednesday, which generally means that you get a wedding post here on Betsy Transatlantically, but we did one of those on Monday when I wrote about a time I felt most beautiful.  (We've has another few wonderful bloggers join the link-up in the last day or so - please do check them out at the bottom!  They've shared some really lovely thoughts.)  Anyway, I'm starting to transition out of regular Wedding Wednesday posts.  We won't get our professional photos back from Tarah for another few weeks, and I think I've blogged everything else possible from our day.  I'm not sure what else there is to say!

However, if you do have specific questions about our wedding, please do leave them in the comments and I'll put my answers all together in next week's Wedding Wednesday post.  I'll certainly share Tarah's photos when they're ready, but let me know if there's anything specific you want to hear about in the meantime!

I work really well when I have a structure to adhere to - you've probably noticed that, besides Wedding Wednesdays, I often do travel posts on Tuesdays, style on Fridays, and some kind of link-heavy wrap up (usually in the form of the Sunday Currently) over the weekend.  So when I say I'm "transitioning" out of Wedding Wednesdays, I mean that I'm hoping to replace it - at least loosely - with another topic!  It's not something I'm going to force, because we all know how that impacts blogging, but I like having that weekly suggestion to focus my thoughts.

When I lived in London, I blogged much more about cooking and entertaining.  I haven't shared so many recipes or dinner parties since I moved back and, while I know that my food photography is atrocious, I miss those home-centered posts!  I was thinking about reintroducing that sort of thing as Wedding Wednesday gets phased out - what do you think?  Tell me what you want to read here!

Actually, I'd really like you to tell me what you want from Betsy Transatlantically.  This post was originally going to end with a plea for you to leave me a comment to guide me as we move forward together, but then I got carried away and made a little survey.  I'd love it if you had a few minutes to take it for me!  It's just nine questions so it shouldn't take too long, and it can be totally anonymous if you want.  I'd be really grateful for your thoughts!  It's here - and thank you so much in advance.

  1. Your blog organisational skills leave me very envious! I'm in such a blogging gap at the moment (mostly as we still don't have the internet in our new flat) and i'm itching to post again and want to devise some sort of editorial plan for myself with regular features, hopefully I will be able to soon! Just filled out the survey :) I'm a tad upset this post has nothing to do with the Spice Girls.

  6. Yay for food posts! I'm also a fan of the home and entertaining idea. Moving from wedding Wednesdays to nesting Wednesdays seems like a logical progression :D

  8. Hi Betsy, it's Sam from the Jewish New Year event!

Considering you work in a museum environment, maybe something on cultural activities? I don't know if there's enough interest to do a weekly post on it, but may mixed in with entertainment posts. I feel like as an adult, you have to make much more of an effort to do something besides watch TV or go to the bar for beers. Those are of course fun, but sometimes it's nice to try something new.
