You've probably all seen the
Capture the Colour contest that was going around the blogosphere - I first found about about it from
Casey's post last week. I think I missed my chance to enter because the deadline was 12am GMT on October 9, which was a really complicated concept for me to grasp, but I knew it would be fun to go through my old photos anyway! (Yes, I'd promised you a visa update today, but you don't mind waiting until next week, do you? I can almost guarantee that nothing will change between now and then.) To keep this relevant to my transatlanticism, I decided to challenge myself by only picking ones I'd taken in England. Let's see what I've got!
yellow
Norfolk, England
red
London, England
green
Suffolk, England
white
London, England
blue
Norfolk, England
Speaking of doing things for fun regardless of the timing, I'd like to holler one last time about
my survey! I'm going to share the results (teaser: not all of the respondents were female!) on Monday, and I'd love to include your input in the round-up. If you haven't yet taken it,
your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
LOVE this color idea! And your photos. I think I'm just going to have to look through my travel photos now too, open contest or no.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, especially the white!
ReplyDeleteit was SO fun to go through photos from the past few years - a really lovely trip down memory lane :)
ReplyDeleteNotting Hill wins every time!
ReplyDeleteooh yes! Most restaurants and pubs organize Christmas dinners but you do have to pre-book. I'd recommend calling Anchor & Hope on The Cut in Waterloo to see if they do it! You'd be near the Southbank, which is really lovely to walk along during the holidays. (Well, anytime, but you'll be there at Christmas, so... haha)
ReplyDeleteI actually don't think that London has Christmas markets in the same way that German towns do, but definitely check out whatever's going on on the Southbank and, if you have time, spend an afternoon at the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park! It's lots of fun :)
oh these photos take me back to the UK. (I want to move back so badly) You capture the colors so beautifully especially yellow and blue!! I'm actually tempted to make yellow my desktop background. x
ReplyDeleteI would love to go to London this Christmas too, maybe if a money fairy visits me soon!
ReplyDeletehaha send her my way when she's done with you!
ReplyDeleteI like how you included the 'u' in color as well, my blog is a mish mash of spellings as it depends on weather I use my English mac or my American PC as to what it changes things to! Lovely collection of pictures :)
ReplyDeleteI don't usually, to be honest, but the company sponsoring the contest is British so I thought I should play along :)
ReplyDeleteoh thank you! what a compliment from you especially :)
ReplyDeleteGreat, pictures, Betsy!
ReplyDeleteOh! This is really cool. For Chicago - I'd say that our colors are blue, grey, and green. Lots of blue in the lake, grey in the architecture, and green from parks. For London, I was obsessed with the rich royal blue color that I kept spotting when I stayed in Shoreditch for a few weeks on business. It was everywhere in the area! I even did a post about it: http://leanerbythelake.com/london-day-two-in-blue/
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! And I love how you captured all those vivid colo(u)r moments! :D
ReplyDeleteI love the first one!
ReplyDeletethanks! that was taken at the end of a long walk in Norfolk - I was SO glad to see the village at the other end of the field, haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Why are red doubledecker buses so cute? In Dublin they used to be green, but now they're yellow and blue and just not cute at all.
