American Bachelorette

When my sister first asked me what I had in mind for my American bachelorette party, I responded with three requests:

1. low-key
2. beach
3. crab feast

Well, after this past weekend, I can definitely say: check, check, and check!  Twelve of us drove out to a house Sarah had found on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay - about an hour and a half from DC, though dear friends made the trip from Connecticut, New York, and Philadelphia, too - and we settled in for two days of good food, summertime brews, Disney movies, Cards against Humanity, feet in the water, jellyfish, antiquing, brilliant sunshine, epic thunderstorms, and lots and lots of wonderful conversation.  I couldn't have asked for a better pause amongst all the chaos than our weekend away.

By the way, you only have two more days to enter my giveaway - it's a wedding gift from me to you, so check it out!

  11. Sounds like the perfect bachelorette with the besties. I'm also going to go for a low-key feel - too old for all this partying nonsense now ;) The 2 week countdown is underway... I cannot believe your wedding is almost here! So excited for you and Jon!
