A Big Birthday

It's Jon's birthday today!  While he's still 15 months younger than I am, this new year makes me feel like I'm not such a cradle-robber, and, while he won't want me confirming exactly how old he is, I can tell you that this is a big birthday.  But he also won't want me to make a big deal out of it because - well, that's not his style.  So we'll have a quick Skype today and hopefully the card I sent on Monday will arrive soon and we'll pick out his present together when I'm over in July, but other than it will be a normal day in this long-distance journey we're on together.

Except that this is me, and I can't let Jon's birthday go by without a little mush, so let me just say this to him:

Happy birthday, darling.  We've enjoyed five years of birthdays together and I can't wait to celebrate the next five decades of birthdays with you.  At heart, you're still the boy I fell in love with (after only three weeks of dating!) four and a half years ago - your hair may not be quite as long as it was then, but your passions and dreams are still as big as the Suffolk sky, and since those couldn't be diminished by the stresses of university or the frustrations of unemployment or the routines of adult life, I have faith that they'll be with us for the rest of our lives no matter how old and responsible we get.  You keep me young, baby.  I love you!

It's also Melissa's birthday today as well as my good friend Colleen's, please join me in wishing them happy birthday, too!

  5. He looks so suave in that picture! Joyeux anniversaire, Jon! (He's 25, right? Do I need to stalk you further and guess when you finished undergrad? 21 isn't a big bday in the UK, and there's no way you're over 30, so he can't be 30... right?)

  6. haha I can neither confirm nor deny your excellent conclusion - though I will say that 21 is big in the UK! I think it might have something to do with old inheritance laws, but I'm not positive. maybe another reader knows? (it's not the drinking thing, that's for sure!)

  8. ERIC at your age i would consume every thing you'll be able to just keep away from sugar,i'd
also do massive body component lifting, bench useless elevate squat with
hefty excess weight minimal reps for ten weaks then
take two months of light lifting then go back for the ten 7 days system once more.

this must allow you to obtain size and weight and hang in there you
are still younger and your just beginning to get a superb little bit
of the personal testosterone and even a lot more within the coming years.
keep away in the roids they could quit your bodies natural development at your age(bones)stunt your dimension

  10. I don't think I knew you're older than Jon! not that it's really a big deal - my mom is 13 months older than my dad, which I tend to forget about because my dad certainly acts older. anyway, happy birthday Jon!

  14. too sweet- happy birthday to your fella! And just for fun, my Papou (grandpa) was 3 years younger than my Yiayia (I think you can figure that one out...) and they were happily married for years...he adored her, and does to this day, even though she's been gone for 20+ years. age ain't nothin' but a numba, and you make a lovely couple.
