My weekends between now and April 20, when I fly off to England, are mostly busy with getting ready for the move to my new apartment on April 26 - wandering around Ikea, snatching up Craigslist finds, picking out paint colors, and moving furniture around my 2D floor plan over and over again - but I'm making time for some fun, too! I was thrilled when
Tina emailed me to suggest a blate while she's in DC for work, and I can't wait to meet her (and her husband!) in real life tomorrow for lunch. We've decided to check out
Union Market which, based on the noise about it on
Twitter, is populated entirely by bloggers on the weekends. Given that the market apparently has tons o' stalls and shops selling cute things for the home, I might still sneak in a few apartment purchases, but I'm going to ask Tina to restrain me if things get out of hand. We're not sure where exactly we'll go for lunch, so please do give us some recommendations if you've been before!
The outfit below isn't exactly the one I'll be wearing for our blate, but I had fun putting together the most quintessentially "blogger" pieces posible. Polka dots, mint, gold, and bows - including
J.Crew and
Kate Spade? You can't be more appropriately attired for a blate than that! But make sure you're following me on
Instagram if you want to se what I'll actually be wearing...
Have a wonderful weekend, dear readers! I hope that spring has finally arrived, wherever you are. (Texas girls - you and your weather in the 80s already! It snowed in London and parts of Virginia yesterday, did you know that? Craziness.) But here in DC it's supposed to be 64
° today, 60
° tomorrow, and 73
° on Sunday. Now that sounds like it's getting to be a spring weekend!
Loving the polka dots & mint!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love this outfit! I do have a slight obsession with polka dots! Bet you're excited for your next trip over here!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit! Have fun on your blate! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd be more excited if it weren't FREEZING! get your act together, England :/
ReplyDeleteI work part-time at JCP, and SO many of our dresses have polka dots. (They're more affordable than J.Crew, too, just sayin'...) Am I bad blogger if I don't understand the obsession with mint? I like it in patterns, but by itself, it's just too blah.
ReplyDeletemy mom LOVES JCP - she always finds the cutest stuff but I feel like maybe I hit it on bad days? But I do love me some Target :)
ReplyDeleteThat mint shade is everywhere today and I love it!!! Meanwhile...that polka dotted dress is so pretty and looks like it would be cut to be flattering on everyone!
ReplyDeleteI love this look - now we just need spring to come to DC! :)

ReplyDeleteI think I'm wearing gingham.... it's either that or do laundry tonight. Ehhh. Gingham wins. ;) I'll try to be a good friend and keep you from over-indulging in little apartment things, but I must warn you.... I've been known to get in trouble for overspending in the nesting apartment. After all... I did just repaint our half bath for no reason at all. :)
ReplyDeleteSee you tomorrow!
I adore polka dots!
ReplyDeleteI don't own any polka dots (how? I have no idea), but I think that dress would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. Have a fun on your blate!
