Laws, Sausages, and Blogs

Man, I was so proud of myself.  For the past two weeks or so, I'd been scheduling - and, sometimes, even completely writing, editing, and polishing - all of my upcoming posts days ahead of time.  Betsy Transatlantically was booked through mid-August! This, I thought, was what organization looked like.  But you know what they say:

pride cometh before a fall*

If you wandered over between 7:30am and 2:30pm EST today, you may have caught a glimpse of a little post that's supposed to be published next week.  I've sent it back into hiding for now, so consider yourself lucky to have had a sneak peak.  And please excuse my extreme organization - it won't happen again, I promise.  We're going back to the good old days of procrastination and last-minute panic.  After all, as they also say:

there are three things you never want to see being made: laws, sausages, and blogs**

*actually, "they" don't say this; the Bible says it (Proverbs 16:18) but I'm paraphrasing anyway so it's okay to be a little sacrilegious for a moment
**this quote is variously attributed to Otto von Bismarck, Mark Twain, and Leo McGarry, except they didn't include the bit about blogs.  I added that.

  1. Ha Ha! Sometimes I see the snippet of someone's post but when you click over, the message is there to say that the post doesn't exist. I always wonder how that happens and I'm always a little scared that maybe some people have seen snippets of some of my drafts. I really hope not. They're a big ol' jumble of mess until the polish.
