Thank you for all of your lovely comments yesterday on my home tour, dear readers! I was especially touched by the compliments on the rug and the paint colors - those were the hardest decisions to make as I was preparing to move in, and I was definitely anxious about spending a good chunk of money on something and then hating it. But I love how it's all turned out and I'm glad you do, too! You know my couch is always available to anyone visiting DC... well, if you can fight Charlie for it!
I'll do a few more posts about the apartment in the coming weeks, focusing on a space or two at a time, and I'll share where I got all of the pieces and how I chose them. I'm certainly not holding myself as an expert in home decor, but this process was quite a reality check for me and maybe a bit more narrative will help any of you who are moving and/or decorating new spaces. In the meantime, though, things are still gradually falling into place - the internet and cable were installed last night! Now it feels like a home.
When my wifi was set up in my new apartment last December, only then could I really relax. I spent a few days without internet, and it about killed me.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Home is where your phone automatically connects to your wifi. How true that is :) Looking forward to more home posts! xo
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for home decor, so I put in lots of votes to see how your home evolves. Before and after's are the best!! And I love the image you put up today...it is SO SO true... home IS where your phone connects to your wi fi! Welcome home!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that moment when you finally have your own wi-fi... that is home. :) Your rug really is fantastic. When you first posted a picture of it I immediately became obsessed. Want want want want!
ReplyDeleteah thank you! hopefully it'll go back on sale soon :)
ReplyDeletethanks love - we should coordinate our home posts!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have it all last week and I spent a fortune on my dad's wireless modem :(
ReplyDeleteYes! Let's do it!
ReplyDeleteSo, so true!!! I'm at my hubbie's apt (he works out of town) and his wifi drives me nuts. I sync now, but it drops all the time. And face time doesn't work, which I totally count on. Ugghh... it's the little things that make home feel like home. Like a warm wifi to cuddle up to at night!

Ugh. Our wifi bounces in and out on our phones so we can't even feel the whole "home is where your phone automatically connects" thing. It's misery. Really. It is. :) Glad you are doing well in your new place!
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! it really is comforting to just... not have to worry about it.
ReplyDeleteoh no! (can you imagine saying that 10 years ago? but now it is the end of the world!) thank you :)
