Spousal Visa Success!
At 4:38am this morning, after a frustratingly restless night, I woke up to a call from Jon.
"Morning, baby!" He sounded supremely cheerful for a man who'd been sitting in a waiting room for an hour and a half. "I've just come from my visa appointment and..."
That's when I started shrieking.
Jon was granted his visa! My husband is moving to America to be with me!
Pause, please, for another shrieking break.
Okay, good. I think I have that out of my system for the moment.
So yes! What happens now, you ask? Well, Jon had to leave his passport with the US Embassy so the visa can be inserted, and he'll get an email from a courier service in about 10 days saying it's ready. (The message board I've informally relied on throughout this process makes it seem like most people get their passports back in less than a week, so I'm assuming the official 10 day estimate is just cautious.) Once he has his passport and his immigration packet, he'll be on a flight to DC!
Jon might actually arrive before summer is technically over. Can you believe it? I'll get to live with the man I love for the first time in years! Yay!
