Let's just say my March DC wedding was well over $40,000. March is not even high wedding season and we cut out a lot!

My biggest advice is to prepare yourself to spend more than you planned. Things will inevitably pop up and there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442709270787168376.post-23745441665462559512012-07-26T13:47:49.800-04:002012-07-26T13:47:49.800-04:00hey i've had to deal with what you're goin...hey i've had to deal with what you're going through. If you need any help let me know I'll be more than happy to help . I married in the English countryside and it was more affordable than getting married in NJ . I also didn't really stick to a budget but I managed to get the best deals on everything. Good luck!Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01746226168099747513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442709270787168376.post-7966197710186870372012-07-26T09:28:52.171-04:002012-07-26T09:28:52.171-04:00Wow That NY price is a big tag. Most of her clients are American but the weddings are here in the UK. If youd like for me to give you her contact info or introduce you two via email just let me know. I can't tell you how many people don't even think about their budget until halfway through the planning, which can be a complete disaster! I hope it all works out for you though, and that the currency doesn't change too much! Your venue looks absolutely incredible, by the way. What a beautiful place to get married!

Thanks so much for linking up today Betsy!

xoxo,
JoelleAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11114687821358320401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442709270787168376.post-70359901843718231512012-07-25T12:05:41.403-04:002012-07-25T12:05:41.403-04:00Oh wow this looks super complicated!!! We have to pay for things gradually due to cash flow. But I don't know what this "forex hedge" is that you speak of... I will look it up! Thank you :)Betsy Transatlanticallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04953626122327472245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442709270787168376.post-21280333598410044582012-07-25T08:50:00.715-04:002012-07-25T08:50:00.715-04:00HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA $37K in NYC H...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA $37K in NYC HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh my gosh that brings tears to my eyesMHM1314https://www.blogger.com/profile/06567516263819917728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442709270787168376.post-30791225664543243812012-07-25T08:29:28.911-04:002012-07-25T08:29:28.911-04:00Hi Betsy,

(This is obviously only be favourable if sterling continued to rise in value against the dollar.) Otherwise, it might be worth getting some advice about putting a forex hedge in place.

good luck!
AnnieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2442709270787168376.post-50306503588723351142012-07-25T08:27:19.061-04:002012-07-25T08:27:19.061-04:00Way to go! My parents paid for most of the wedding.. we made a spreadsheet early on to get an idea for approx. how much the wedding would cost, then they transferred over a big bulk of the money to my UK bank account because we were afraid the exchange rate would go up.Jackiehttps://twitter.com/JackieLikesTeanoreply@blogger.com
